If these two did team up, I think the relationship between them would be... Interesting. For example, the irony is that Maka is the brains of her group and Pit can't even read. However, they do have some things in common. They both have a companion they deeply care for (Palutena and Soul), they fight evil creatures that are sometimes much bigger then they are, and they both fought a bitch named Medusa.
